Fans of Will and Grace's Debra Messing might enjoy this lightweight romantic comedy. Messing stars as a single woman who hires a handsome male escort (Dermot Mulroney) to pose as her boyfriend at her sister's wedding, primarily to get back at her former fiance.

The escort does his job too well and she starts to have feelings for him. The San Francisco Chronicle's Mick LaSalle wrote: "The Wedding Date is a fairly mediocre film, not nearly as funny as it should be, nor as heartfelt."

Verdict: Barely passable chick flick. Probably go straight into DVD as a nice, couch sitter.
